TLV863MDBZT Working Principle

TLV863MDBZT Supervisor provides a wide range of voltage protection, overvoltage protection, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), power-on reset (POR) and monitoring functions. The figure below shows the working principle of TLV863MDBZT.

The TLV863MDBZT includes a voltage comparator and a D-type flip-flop. The input to the voltage comparator is generated by the UVLO circuit and the analog reference voltage. When the supply voltage is below a defined level (the UVLO voltage threshold), the voltage comparator’s output is low. The low output of the voltage comparator drives the reset signal to low and the D-type flip-flop is reset.

While the supply voltage is above the UVLO threshold, the voltage comparator’s output is high and the D-type flip-flop is set. The reset signal is released, allowing the system to function normally. TheTLV863MDBZT also includes an overvoltage protection circuit. When the supply voltage is above a defined level (the OVLO threshold), the overvoltage protection circuit will clamp the output voltage, providing protection to the system.
