The TM1062TX3DUA is a low-cost integrated data link transceiver for the IrDA (infrared data association) protocol. It is designed to eliminate the need for separate IrDA transceiver modules, as it integrates an infrared transceiver, a built-in driver, and an 8-bit UART on a single chip.
The TM1062TX3DUA is ideal for connecting infrared portables and other devices in close range without the need for cables. Wireless printing, data exchange, and various other applications are enabled by this transceiver.

Working principle: The TM1062TX3DUA converts different electrical signals into infrared light signals and vice versa. This transceiver is built with a photo detector, infrared light emitting diode, control circuits, and an analog circuit for processing data.
The proximity of the IrDA transceiver module to the detector is detected by an electrical signal from the photo detector. If a signal is detected, an electronic switch is triggered, and the data is encoded into infrared pulses to be sent from the light emitting diode.
Receiving infrared communications happens in a similar manner, but instead of emitting pulses, the photo detector converts the infrared pulses into electrical signals for decoding. Once decoded, the transceiver then uses the 8-bit UART, allowing the device to communicate with a variety of external systems and devices.
Reliable communication is further ensured by the robust data link protocol of the IrDA. This protocol ensures all data is securely exchanged and prevents any interference or error while transmitting or receiving data.
