It enables customers to evaluate, characterize, and demonstrate the TMC5160 integrated stepper motor driver IC. The TMC5160-EVAL-KIT combines all necessary resources for the evaluation and demonstration of the TMC5160 in one package.The TMC5160-EVAL-KIT includes the TMC5160-EVAL board, software, and a motor or sample motor kit which contains power, safety, and motor modules.The TMC5160-EVAL board contains the TMC5160-EVAL IC, power supply, noise suppression, fan control, Standby, motor connection protection, and other components. The board also has an onboard TMC5160-EVAL IC connected to the EFM32™ Gecko 32-bit MCU from Silicon Labs, allowing the user to control the motor, can store registers, and modify configurations with the control software. The combination of the TMC5160-EVAL board and the software make creating a stepper motor solution quick and easy. The motor or sample motor kit contains the motor, power, safety, and motor modules. This kit allows the user to quickly setup a stepper motor drive solution with components specifically designed for the TMC5160 IC.The TMC5160-EVAL provides a power output to the motor, as well as a feedback connection from the motor to the IC. The TMC5160-EVAL contains circuitry to control the power supply to the motor, allowing the motor to be controlled and monitored in real time. The evaluation board also has a USB interface for communication between the computer and the board, as well as a CAN bus for connection to external devices. The board also contains an onboard potentiometer used to adjust the current and/or position of the motor.The software included with the TMC5160-EVAL-KIT allows the user to connect to the board and use the graphical user interface (GUI) to control the motor. The software also allows the user to configure the control parameters such as the current limit, speed limit, and acceleration limit. The GUI also provides real-time data which can be used to monitor and adjust the motor.The TMC5160-EVAL-KIT is a powerful, easy-to-use evaluation and demonstration tool for the TMC5160 integrated stepper motor driver IC.
