It uses two powerful microcontrollers, ARM Cortex-M4 and ARM Cortex-M0+ based on the TM4C129XNCZAD microcontroller. This device is also equipped with an integrated 16-bit ADC and 16-bit DAC module, making it ideal for various signal processing tasks in industrial, automotive, medical and consumer markets.</p><p>The TMDSDMK642 device consists of two pairs of microcontrollers, a 32-bit multicore ARM Cortex-M4, and a 16/32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ processor. Additionally, the device is equipped with an integrated 16-bit ADC (four channels) and 16-bit DAC (2 channels). Moreover, a range of peripherals such as watch-dog timer, interrupts, timers, dedicated I/O and communications peripherals, including four UARTs are included.</p><p>The TMDSDMK642 is an ideal platform for motion control applications such as motor control, digital process control, robotics, and automation. It is also perfectly suited for signal processing applications such as audio and image processing, as well as communications applications such as telecommunications, automotive and wireless devices.</p><h3>Working Principle</h3><p>The central control unit of the TMDSDMK642 is the ARM Cortex-M4 processor. This 32-bit processor integrates an AHB bus matrix into the device, providing efficient inter-processor communication. It also has an integrated 16-bit ADC/DAC module and two additional high-speed data acquisition channels. The Cortex-M4 processor has direct access to the integrated ADC via the AHB, allowing for data collection and processing on the same processor. This ensures that the system is able to make maximum use of the device’s resources for faster processing.</p><p>The integrated 16-bit ADC/DAC module supports four channels which can be synchronized with each other. These channels include two for digital signal acquisition and two for analog signal acquisition. The integrated 16-bit ADC can support sample rates up to 200 kSPS. Furthermore, the 16-bit DAC module can generate up to 8 different outputs and support up to 32 bit data word formats.</p><p>The Cortex-M0+ processor is connected to the Cortex-M4 processor via the AHB bus. The Cortex-M0+ is used for motor control operations and can read and write data from the 16-bit ADC/DAC.
