TMDXEVM3503

The TMDXEVM3503 is a complete hardware/software development system for the Texas Instruments TMS320C30 Digital Signal Processor. This evaluation board is ideal for embedded applications such as motion control, signal and image processing, and communication systems. It simplifies the design of embedded applications as it offers an all-in-one solution with the necessary tools to quickly and easily prototype a wide range of embedded applications. The TMDXEVM3503 evaluation board comes with all the necessary software and hardware to enable out-of-the-box development capabilities.

The board is built around the TMS320C30, a 16-bit multi-core DSP core that provides high performance, along with low power consumption and reconfigurable peripherals. The TMDXEVM3503 evaluation board includes a 16-bit DMA controller, on-chip cache and address translation unit, a programmable interrupt controller, memory controllers, and a high-performance Advanced Timed Interrupt Controller (TIC) for simultaneous external interrupt handling. In addition, the board has an on-chip temperature sensing module, and can be configured for the use of external temperature sensors.

The TMDXEVM3503 includes on-board flash memory as well as SRAM for storing code and data. It can also be configured to use external memory, such as SDRAM, EEPROM or NOR flash. The evaluation board has several I/O ports which allow connection to outside hardware, as well as a PCI bus which can be used to connect additional peripheral devices. One of the major advantages of the TMDXEVM3503 is its high data throughput, which is suitable for digital signal processing and multimedia applications.

The TMDXEVM3503 is powered by the TMS320C30 DSP core, which is programmed in C and assembler. The DSP core is multi-core and can be configured for up to 32 cores. The DSP core also supports the Texas Instruments QuickTime library which provides real-time video processing, image processing and audio processing capability. The DSP core can also be used to control and monitor external devices using an on-board digital I/O port.

The TMDXEVM3503 evaluation board comes with the development environment to facilitate start-up debugging and programming of the TMS320C30-based applications. The development environment allows the user to compile and link the code with third-party tools to create the finished product. It also supports rapid in-circuit emulation and debugging for the C30 processor, as well as integration with the TMS320 real-time operating system (RTOS) and real-time analytical software (RTAS). The board also comes with an on-board debugger which can be used for targeted debugging and profiling.
