TVS - Diodes, also known as transient voltage suppressors, are used for protecting sensitive electronics from overvoltage and high-energy transients. The TPC24AHM3_A/H is a three line protection type of TVS diodes that acts as a voltage clamp to clamp high-energy transients to safe levels. It is designed for use in consumer, industrial, and automotive applications, and offers real-time protection against overvoltage transients.

The TPC24AHM3_A/H is composed of three series-connected Silicon Avalanche Diodes (SADs) and a protection device. Each SAD is connected in series, with anode and cathode terminals connected together. When the SADs are under normal operating voltage, the protection device remains in an open state, allowing the diode to remain unclamped and in an ‘on’ state. This will cause the SADs to absorb the excess voltage through its rapidly-switching current capability, thus protecting the device from overvoltage transients.
