Applications

Working Principle

The TPS3305-33D supervisor device has several different operating modes. The Operating voltages, trip points and timing can be configured to match the application requirements. The supervisor is “woken up” after the power supply reaches the Recognition voltage, and then it begins to monitor the operating voltage. When the operating voltage falls below the trip point, the supervisor will assert the reset signal.

The supervisor can also monitor the temperature using a thermistor. The temperature can be monitored in either degree Celsius or Fahrenheit depending on the configuration. When the temperature exceeds the pre-defined trip point, the supervisor will trigger the reset or assert signal.

The watchdog timer circuit provides a reset timer which can be used to provide a reset after a period of time has elapsed. This can be used to protect against data corruption or malicious code.
