The working principle of these window comparators enables the device to compare two voltages or other signals and indicate whether the voltage or other signal is within or outside of a set range. The TPS3700DDCR provides a wide range of features in regards to its comparison inputs. The comparators have input hysteresis of 60mV for inputs larger than VCC/2 and 10mV for inputs smaller than VCC/2, to provide noise immunity. It also has an extension to the common-mode input voltage range, which can come close to the supply rails. With these features, the device can be used in single- and double-ended, as well as dual-rail-to-rail applications.Utilizing the comparator with its input hysteresis and common-mode voltage extension allows for use in solving a number of problems.
