TPS3700/EVM-202 is a power supply evaluation module specifically designed to demonstrate how to use TPS3700 and TPS3704 load switch devices. The TPS3704 provides a wide bidirectional load switch to enable/disable integrated circuitry that requires an enable signal. The TPS3704 has low 0.5 ohm series RDS(on) allowing up to 17.5V of voltage drop between the output and the input. The EVM supports a wide range of voltages and current levels. The TPS3700 EVM is a 3V to 30V regulator that offers some features to help optimize the system performance. These features include but are not limited to: Overvoltage protection, Undervoltage protection, Soft-start, Overcurrent threshold, Thermal shutdown, Current limit and Power limit.

TPS3700EVM-202 is able to output a maximum of 2 Amperes of current from 3 Volts up to 30 Volts. The EVM also includes a USB based GUI for control and monitoring of the devices, which offer the ability to monitor various operational parameters of the device such as input/output voltage, current, temperature, and others. The GUI also allows settings to be changed via a simple interface and provides the convenience of a local user interface for performance tests. This local user interface can also be used to store test results.

In addition to having the ability to monitor the device via the GUI, the EVM also offers I2C and serial port communication capability. This provides the user with the ability to control and monitor the device from a distance. The EVM also includes an On-board protection circuit that helps to protect your system against ESD and other transients that may occur during operation.

The device also includes a variety of resources such as an onboard external pin connector and additional external terminal pins for increased flexibility. The onboard external pin connector includes two functional groups that are used to enable/disable the TPS3700/TPS3704 devices. The additional external terminal pins are used to provide an additional level of control to the device. Additionally, the device provides two user-definable input and output pins for easy access to the input and output voltage and current.

The TPS3700 EVM provides a cost effective, low power solution for evaluating and demonstrating various power supply systems. The device is very easy to use and set up. Additionally, the EVM offers a wide range of features and functionalities, providing the user with a great tool to evaluate and demonstrate a variety of power supply systems.
