The working principle of TPS3707-50DG4 is based on monitoring the load voltage. The load voltage is compared to an internal Reference input that has been programmed. When the load voltage drops below the programmed voltage, the device will pull its two open drain outputs low. The inputs and outputs of this chip are designed to operate at 3.0V to 5.5V and it has a hysteresis of 0.1V to 0.9V, adjustable with external resistor, to improve noise immunity.
The operation of this device is fairly straightforward. It monitors the voltage of the load and outputs an active-low reset signal if the voltages falls below the preset levels. It has two open-drain outputs; RESET (RESETB) and RESET# (RESET), which can be used to provide dual feedback when the reset is engaged. In addition, the device has an internal pull-up resistor of 24K in RESET pin.
The device has an adjustable delay which is used to prevent spurious resets. A capacitor is connected between the DELAY pin and ground to externally adjust the delay time by choosing the appropriate capacitor value.
