The monitor also supports up to 4 reset threshold levels for the supply and temperature.

Working Principle

The TPS3836H30DBVTG4 contains several functional blocks, including a comparator and temperature monitor that generate a reset signal in case of temperature abnormality or supply voltage sag or excess.

The monitor has internal digital and analog power supplies, permitting the use of two threshold settings for the digital and analog supplies. Also included is an embedded 6-bit digital temperature sensor, which allows the user to program any of the four input thresholds (at 10°C increments).

The monitor also has an integrated power-on reset generator, which asserts a RESET when the system is powered up. This signal can be used to initialize microprocessors, microcontrollers and other components after power-up.

When the device detects an under voltage or over voltage supply or a temperature anomaly, it generates an active-low RESET signal that latches its output. The user can reset the device by grounding the RESET or allowing the output to propagate a power-on reset. The device features an adjustable propagation delay to enable precise reset timing.

The device offers a preset accuracy for supply and temperature monitoring. The reset output switch is configured to prevent bouncing and produces a clean, noise-immune reset.
