PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear + SwitchingThe Texas Instruments TPS5300DAP is a dual input, dual output tandem PWM Controller and DC/DC converter for high current applications and high frequency point-of-load dc/dc Regulation. The TPS5300DAP has a wide range of features and applications.The TPS5300DAP is suitable for applications in telecommunications, automotive and industrial, LED, computer and consumer electronics. This device integrates two synchronous buck boost PWM controllers with a single power-train shared enabling two Rail-Rail operation or two single rail operation of Output1, Output2, up to 6A of output current. It has a wide input voltage range from 5V to 25V and switch frequencies up to 1 MHz.The device provides a precise 1.2V power on reset and adjustable over voltage protection, adjustable soft start and delivery current limit, output short-circuit protection with auto-recovery mode, and a design-in analog current limit. It also has very low voltage drop across an enabled output and adjustable output voltage up to 20V.The TPS5300DAP has a comprehensive suite of features to ensure clean power delivery and improved system efficiency, making it an ideal solution for industrial, automotive, computer and consumer applications that require high current and high frequency Point-of-Load Regulation.When connected to a digital platform, the TPS5300DAP combines several devices to form a complete digital power supply solution. Specifically, it includes two independent synchronous buck integrated controllers and one built-in non-overlapping gate driver, which provides an ideal solution for multi-rail systems or two single rail applications.The TPS5300DAP integrates a variety of features that provides system level protection. This includes adjustable over voltage protection (OVP), adjustable minimum dropout voltage, precision output voltage regulation, adjustable current limit, adjustable soft start, reset, and short-circuit protection with auto-recovery. In addition, the TPS5300DAP provides power-on reset (1.2V precision) and adjustable under voltage lockout protection.The TPS5300DAP also has a programmable size frequency which ranges from 107 Hz to 1 MHz. The High-Frequency Switching Capability (HFS) supports high frequency applications such as high current FPGA LDO’s and point of load applications.The TPS5300DAP operates with an input voltage range from 5V to 25V and an adjustable output voltage range up to 20V. With the high switching frequency of up to 1MHz it is possible to reduce the external inductor size and its cost as well as minimize the board space and thermal dissipation requirements.Additionally, the device has low voltage ripple across an enabled output and a wide load transient response range of ±20%.
