Texas Instruments’ TPS54625PWP offers an integrated step-down DC/DC converter that helps low-power applications for the industrial, automotive, and consumer markets. This buck regulator is recognized for its excellent performance, size, and flexibility. It also provides robust protection against thermal overload, under voltage lockout (UVLO), output disconnect, inrush current limiting (ICL), and over current protection (OCP).

Working Principle

The TPS54625PWP can efficiently adjust its internal parameters, such as the protection thresholds and ramp rate, through two external pins (T1 and T2). This device utilizes its integrated power FETs and µController Unit (MCU) to provide over current protection and thermal shutdown.

The maximum output current can be set from 0.5 A to 15 A using two external resistors.
