A variety of other features built into the device make it extremely useful for a wide range of applications, such as instantaneous static and transient load currents up to 1.8A, temperature and protection from output short circuit conditions and over temperature situations. Current limit protection is provided for both the input and output with fast response, allowing for easy fault detection and corrective action.

Under steady state conditions the device is designed to provide 2.2V of minimum output voltage at light load conditions (1μA typical quiescent current). To ensure stable performance without unwanted output voltage fluctuations, the device is designed to provide a low output noise of 45μV of peak-to-peak noise, load transient performance of 15µs, and output voltage line regulation of 0.15%/V.

The output voltage of the TPS61120PW is adjustable using an external resistor divider in the feedback loop. A 10kΩ resistor is generally used for the voltage adjusting function, allowing for a wide range of output voltage setting. The output voltage of the device is also adjustable using a user-configurable enable pin. This feature, in addition to adjustable output voltage and the low noise operation, makes the TPS61120PW an ideal choice for a variety of applications.
