The TRF3761-AIRHAR family of products is a set of highly integrated, Frequency Synthesizers, PLLs, and Clock Generators that are developed and manufactured by Texas Instruments. The devices are used in a wide range of applications including automotive, industrial, military and commercial applications. This article will discuss the applications and working principles of the TRF3761-AIRHAR family.The TRF3761-AIRHAR family includes four different devices: the TRF3761, the TRF3760, the TRF3763, and the TRF3762. The TRF3761 and TRF3760 are frequency synthesizers that are designed for low phase-noise, and low jitter, while the TRF3763 and TRF3762 are PLLs and clock generators that are designed for low jitter, low latency and accurate clock sync. All four devices offer low power consumption and the ability to customize their outputs with a variety of frequency, amplitude and transport options.The TRF3761-AIRHAR family is primarily used for frequency-hopping, spread-spectrum, and low-jitter clock synchronization. Frequency-hopping and spread-spectrum are methods of transmitting data which are more secure and less susceptible to interference than conventional methods, and the devices offer a wide range of frequency options to accommodate these applications. Clock synchronization is used to ensure that multiple devices in a system remain in sync, and the devices are accurate to better than 250 picoseconds of jitter.The devices also have the ability to customize their outputs with a variety of options, such as frequency, amplitude, and transport. The TRF3761 and TRF3760 are both multiband devices, with frequencies ranging from 2-40 GHz, and offer up to ten output frequency bands. The TRF3763 and TRF3762 both offer a range of output frequencies and two different transport options, spread-spectrum and clock synchronization. The TRF3761-AIRHAR family also has the ability to becontrolled via a user interface. This can be either through a direct connection to a microcontroller or a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI provides an intuitive, visual, way to configure and monitor the performance of the devices.The devices also offer a range of onboard protection features, allowing them to operate in environments where temperatures up to -40°C to +95°C are encountered.
