The TRK-MPC5604B evaluation board is an embedded processor board featuring an NXP Semiconductor’s MPC5604B microcontroller (MCU) and an NXP Semiconductor’s automotive LCD controller MC33810. This board is suitable applications where low-end motor control, image processing, digital signal processing (DSP) and multimedia applications are needed. It is a cost-effective and powerful platform-level evaluation board and can be used for prototyping and evaluation of a variety of applications.

The TRK-MPC5604B features a host of on-board peripherals, including peripherals for digital signal processing, media, motor control, navigation, graphics, and display. These on-board features enable rapid development and testing of a variety of applications, including automotive infotainment, navigation, motor control, consumer electronics, and industrial applications. The processor and LCD controller are combined on the board, allowing for efficient use of power and space.

These on-board features provide designers with an ideal solution for prototyping and accelerating development of their applications. The integrated development environment (IDE) for the MPC5604B processor includes MATLAB/Simulink, a powerful simulation and modeling tool. TRK-MPC5604B also has a built-in LCD controller MC33810 that permits easy visualization of the application processing results. The MC33810 supports a variety of LCD formats, including mono, color and double-scan LCDs. The MC33810 also supports a wide range of peripheral devices, such as ADC, DAC, WDG, UART, and SPI, which are essential for many types of LCD applications.

In addition to the LCD controller, the TRK-MPC5604B also supports a variety of other on-board peripherals. These include an integrated temperature sensor, voltage monitor, power switch and an accelerometer. The integrated temperature sensor allows temperature sensing for multiple applications, while the voltage monitor enables monitoring of the processor voltage level during system operation.

Lastly, the TRK-MPC5604B evaluation board also features an on-board Ethernet PHY. The Ethernet PHY provides a physical layer for communicating between integrated and external devices. This can be used to enable communication between a real-time system running on the MPC5604B and an external PC.
