The TS33010-M033QFNR is a 2.5A single-channel synchronous switching voltage regulator with a step-down power conversion design. The device uses an integrated PMOS synchronous Rectifier, a peak current mode control structure, and a simple external components configuration, with a wide input voltage range from 3V to 40V and an adjustable output voltage range from 0.8V to 30V. It also offers operating transition frequency up to 1MHz and excellent thermal performance, making it a great selection for applications such as Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) requirements, notebook/computer power supplies, USB power, communications and office automation systems.
The TS33010-M033QFNR switching regulator has two major regulating modes: CCM and DCM. In constant on-time control mode(CCM), the pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency is adjustable based on the load current, thus bridge the performance gap between discontinuous and continuous current mode control (DCM). In DCM, the device works in peak current mode with a fixed frequency, therefore achieve excellent dynamic stability.
Using its simple externally adjustable components, the output voltage can be adjusted between 0.8V to 30V. It also features a current sense threshold adjustment, which allows the device to effectively regulate, over-current, inrush and over-voltage protection. In addition, when a load or an input voltage change is detected, it auto adjusts its duty cycle to maintain output voltage.
Moreover, it also requires only a few external components including inductor, output capacitor and freewheeling diode. The output capacitor filters out the switching noise and provides a constant output voltage as well as stability circuit. The output inductor on the other hand, is used to reduce the output ripple voltage, by reducing the output voltage at switching frequency. The freewheeling diode is used to prevent leakage from the inductor, when the switching transistor is off.
