The TS331 ICT (Integrated Circuit Technology) is a linear comparator product of Texas Instruments, which is suitable and can be used to a wide range of applications. It is designed with two operational amplifier based comparator and reference voltage circuit which helps the device to compare two different signals that are input to this application and provide a digital output for further processing. With the help of this technology, we can apply different types of logical operations, such as comparison, sorting, threshold detection and etc..The TS331 ICT device has two separate inputs, one is the reference voltage input or power supply (VCC) voltage and another is the input signal (VIN). The device also has an adjustable input current limiter that prevents too much input signal from entering the device and safeguard the device from the sudden rise in input current.The device comes with 2 basic modes of operation; a low power standby mode and an active mode, which helps the user to switch between two modes according to current requirement. When the device is in standby mode, the comparator and reference voltage circuit is disabled. However, when the device is in active mode, both the comparator and reference voltage circuit is enabled. The core processing is done by the two separate operational amplifier based comparators IC1 and IC2. The device compares the input voltage of VIN with the reference voltage VCC and passes different signals to the output for further processing. If the VIN voltage is greater than VCC voltage, the output will be high and vice versa. The device can also be used in non-inverting mode where the output will be high when VIN voltage is less than VCC voltage.The other features that make it a great product are the adjustable hysteresis and the current gains of the which can be set according to the application. The internal hysteresis can help reduce the amount of noise that is being detected.
