TS80C31X2-VCC is an 8-bit single-chip microcontroller produced by Intel and designed for embedded applications. The single-chip microcontroller (SCM) integrates on a tiny piece of silicon all the basic elements for system control, as ROM, RAM, I/O ports and an 8-bit CPU. The entire device, 40 pins in a small low-power package, requires 1.5V to 5.5V power supply and can work up to 20MHz. It is the ideal choice for many embedded applications thanks to its large number of features, low cost and low power consumption.
The TS80C31X2-VCC series of single-chip microcontrollers is composed of several variants. The TS80C31X2-VCC2 is a version with 128 bytes of on-chip RAM and 8Kbytes of on-chip EPROM. The TS80C31X2-VCC6, instead, comes with 256 bytes of on-chip RAM, 16Kbytes of on-chip EPROM and 4Kbytes of on-chip Flash program memory. The TS80C31X2-VCC7 adds 32Kbytes of on-chip Flash program memory.
The TS80C31X2-VCC microcontroller comes equipped with some quite advanced features, that make it a really powerful device. It comes with two 16-bit timer/counters and capture registers able to capture and measure external input pulses of varying length. Furthermore, the microcontroller includes a watchdog timer and an 8-bit A/D converter, (converting analog signals into digital ones).
