Pressure sensors, also known as pressure transducers, are pressure-measuring devices which are used to measure the pressure in liquids and gases. The TSCSAAN030PDUCV is a pressure transducer which is an ideal solution for applications in a wide range of automotive, industrial, telecommunications and medical fields.

The TSCSAAN030PDUCV is a robust, low power pressure transducer built on the proven and reliable sampling bridge circuit topology. It is an all-in-one, fully-integrated module that provides high accuracy pressure sensing and measurement. The transducer utilizes a piezoresistive strain gauge bridge sensor which senses pressure changes and outputs an electrical signal to a microcontroller for digital communication. This pressure transducer is designed to operate from a single power supply with a wide range of input voltages for signal compatibility.

The transducer is designed for use in harsh environments and is carefully constructed to be resistant to shock, vibration, humidity, and temperature extremes. The TSCSAAN030PDUCV pressure transducer has a thermally compensated pressure sensing element with temperature compensation circuitry to improve its accuracy over wide temperature ranges. It is designed to operate in the temperature range from -40°C to +125°C (-40°F to +257°F). The transducer has a high operating pressure of 3000 PSI, and a non-linearity of 0.25%, and provides a 0.1 to 5V dc output signal.

This pressure transducer’s working principle is based on the Wheatstone bridge. The TSCSAAN030 PDUCV consists of a cap which is mounted to a base. Inside the cap are four resistors as well as a pressure sensing element. The pressure sensing element is a film strain gauge which has been encapsulated in a stainless steel diaphragm. As the pressure changes, the strain gauge is stretched and changes its electrical resistance. This in turn changes the electrical current that passes through the strain gauge, and this variation in current is detected by the Wheatstone bridge circuit.

The electrical current generated by the bridge is then amplified by the internal amplifier, and output as a linear voltage signal. This signal is then processed by the microcontroller for digital communication. This pressure transducer can be used for a variety of applications, including automotive and industrial electronics, medical devices, and telecommunications applications.
