The working principle of TUSB522PRGET lies in its USB Type-C receptacle and active USB-C cable plug detection. The USB Type-C receptacle is suggested to be configured and wired to the system such that power, ground, and the side-band signal traces are routed from the receptacle contacts to the appropriate interface terminals. The Active USB-C cable plug detection module is the most important and it monitors the differential signal of USB Type-C on the D+/D- pin pair for Type-C plug detection, and it can detect Type-C plug insertion and removal and toggle the power delivery port pin accordingly.
