Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a kind of capacitors which have higher capacitance and larger volume than other capacitors. They have wide application fields, such as in high frequency and high voltage circuits. TVA1212 is a kind of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. We will discuss briefly the application fields and working principle of this kind of capacitors.
Application Field
TVA1212 aluminum electrolytic capacitors are applied in high frequency and high voltage circuits. They are especially suitable in high frequency switching power supplies, high frequency inverters and other circuits, because of their excellent high frequency characteristics and at high frequency conditions, they have low equivalent series resistance and equivalent series inductance. Also, TVA1212 is especially suitable in electric charging circuits with high current, because of its low equivalent series resistance.
In addition, TVA1212 have good heat resistance and peak current capability, and they can be widely used in electrical equipments which need large peak current supply. They are also applied in telecommunication equipment, medical equipment, security products, VCDs, cameras and other equipments.
Working Principle
TVA1212 aluminum electrolytic capacitors are made up of an anode which is an aluminum foil having a layer of oxide film on its surface, a cathode which is an aluminum foil coated with non-conductive material such as manganese dioxide, and an electrolyte. It is the electrons of the aluminum foil in the anode side which form the electric field between the anode and the cathode. Therefore, the capacitor works by charging and diacharging of the electrons.
In operation, the electrolyte creates an oxide film on the surface of the anode and cathode. This oxide film has an electric field which is similar to that of a dielectric. This oxide film creates a barrier between the anode and the cathode. This barrier prevents the flow of current and, at the same time, it creates an electric field between the anode and the cathode.
When a voltage is applied to the anode and the cathode, the electric field created between the two creates a force which attracts the electrons of the aluminum foil to pass through the oxide film created by the electrolyte. When the voltage is removed, the electrons will be returned to the metal in the anode side, hence, producing a current. Thus, TVA1212 aluminum electrolytic capacitors can charge and discharge efficiently in a high frequency and high voltage circuit.
Therefore, we can conclude that TVA1212 aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a kind of capacitors which are suitable for high frequency and high voltage conditions. They have wide applications in electric equipment and the working principle can be explained with the electric field created between the anode and the cathode.
