Application Fields
The TVA1306 is typically used for micro-power circuits, frequency synthesizers, power supplies, and back-up power applications. Working Principle
The TVA1306 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, which works by storing energy in its built-up oxide film layer. This layer is formed by oxidation of aluminum particles in the capacitor’s anode. The capacitor’s dielectric material is then formed by the oxide layer and the aluminum particles. The relationship between the capacitor’s capacitance and the oxide material’s thickness is exponential.
When a voltage is applied, electrons are drawn from the anode and collected in the cathode. This creates an electric field in between the two electrodes. This electric field then causes the formation of an electric dipole between the two electrodes. Finally, the electric dipole creates an electrostatic field, which induces an electric flow between the plates. This is how the capacitor works to store, discharge, and regulate electrical current.
