TWR-K40D100M-KIT is an evaluation board that is embedded to facilitate development of applications using MCU, DSP microcontrollers. This kit features the Kinetis K40 family of microcontroller devices which are integrated with a built-in digital signal processing (DSP) core. The devices are powered by an ARM Cortex-M35P processor and can be used to offer considerable benefits for a wide range of applications.

The Evaluation Board kit contains all the necessary components and common tools as well as a range of features and peripherals designed to make development both faster and easier. It includes a two board system that contains a development board paired with a display board.

The development board contains a Kinetis K40 MCU, an external flash memory device, EEPROM, LCD/LED driver, USB, and other essential components. It includes a wide selection of common peripherals, ranging from on-board Ethernet, SATA, CAN, PS/2, and Serial. Additionally, the development board includes on-board diagnosis and debugging tools to facilitate quick development.

The display board includes a 128×64 dot-matrix graphic LCD, RGB LED touchpads, and an audio amplifier. A graphical user interface or GUI controls the display and can be used to display graphics, text, and images. Other embedded features on the display board include a resistive touch panel, temperature/humidity sensors, and a 6-axis accelerometer.
