The TWR-KL46Z48M is an evaluation board based around an ARM Cortex-M0+ MCU. It provides users with a low-cost option for experimenting with and testing the various features of an ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontroller from the Kinetis KL46Z family of chips. It is one of the popular microcontroller evaluation boards for the Proprietary Kinetis L Family.
The TWR-KL46Z48M evaluation board is powered by a 48 MHz NXP Kinetis KL46Z Cortex-M0+ microcontroller. This 32-bit MCU features a 32KB of flash, 4KB of RAM, and a host of other features such as two 12-bit analog-to-digital converters, three 16-bit timers, one of which is a multiplying digital-to-analog converter, up to two internal real-time clocks, an internal watchdog timer, one serial peripheral interface, one SPI, one USB 2.0 controller, 8 serial communication interfaces, and two analog comparators. It also features an ARM Cortex-M0+ lowpower core coupled with the NXP FlexPeripheral Crossbar matrix which provides an easy way to use different digital and analog peripherals by selecting the desired peripheral configuration through software.
The macrocell continues to be one of the key components supplied on the TWR-KL46Z48M. This enables user‐definedIO power up/down sequencing with control over peripheral clock gating, and puts the user in the driver’s seat. The board also comes with 64KB of on-board flash memory, 2.4V to 5.5V input range, USB Vendor ID/Product ID, and voltage and temperature sensing capabilities, making it a great platform for evaluating the features of the KL46Z family of microcontrollers.
