The NXP TWR-KL82Z72M Evaluation Board is a comprehensive platform designed to evaluates features and performance of the KL82 family of devices (KL82Z7P, KL82Z75P, KL82Z71P MCUs) for various applications. The evaluation board is equipped with a large number of features that make it easy to use and provides users with a flexible and reliable platform for both prototyping and product development.

The TWR-KL82Z72M provides users with a wide range of capabilities, ranging from embedded processing to communications and user input/output. The board is equipped with a NXP KL82Z7P/KL82Z75P/KL82Z71P 32-bit Arm Cortex®-M0+ core-based microcontroller with up to 128KB Flash memory, 8KB SRAM, and a wide selection of system peripherals including analog, communication (OTA/USB, Ethernet, CAN, and FlexCAN), and user I/O. It also includes an on-board debugger/programmer (OpenSDA) and three application specific expansion modules –Wi-Fi & Bluetooth module, smart card readers, and Sensors Xtreme module.

The TWR-KL82Z72M board is ideal for applications such as Internet of Things (IoT) gateways, medical and insect equipment, motor control applications, smart building and home automation, and various consumer and industrial control systems. In addition, the dual FlexCAN bus, USB, Ethernet port, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection provide users with the ability to connect the board to other devices, which further expands its potential applications.

The board is powered by the KL82Z72M processor which has an integrated system timer, interrupt controller, DMA controller, and a low-power Clock Recovery Unit (CRU) that can reduce power consumption in battery applications. The KL82Z72M is provided in a 32-pin QFN package and is fully compatible with the NXP KL82-series software and hardware development kits. The included OpenSDA (On-board Serial Debugging and Programming) interface enables the KL82Z72M processor to be easily programmed and debugged from a PC.

The TWR-KL82Z72M board also offers a wide range of on-board peripherals that enable users to quickly and easily develop, evaluate, and debug their applications such as LCD display (color or monochrome), touch sense display, numeric keypad, LEDs and buttons. Additionally, the board includes an internal temperature sensor, 5V voltage regulator, and a low‑dropout 5V regulator, allowing users to develop secure, power-efficient applications. Finally, the included "Twist and Stick" feature allows users to connect multiple boards, thereby enabling debugging, testing, and application prototyping on multiple boards at once.

The board also provides connections and features needed for evaluation and debugging. Users can interface the TWR-KL82Z72M Evaluation Board with different debugging probes via multiple connectors, which include JTAG, Serial Wire Debug (SWD), and USB
