The TWR-LS1021A-PB evaluation board is designed to help embedded engineers develop and evaluate products based on the NXP® LS1021A communications processor, which belongs to the MCU. This board integrates functions such as McAfee® security, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, and SATA to provide a platform for connected device designs.

The LS1021A processor is based on the Cortex-A7 and Cortex-R5 architectures and provides integrated hardware enabled Security Subsystem and support for Arm® TrustZone Technology. It has two ARM Cortex-A7 cores that are multi-threaded for high performance, having a frequency of up to 800 MHz and a DSP capable of performing up to 40+ GFLOPS, making it suitable for image processing, communications, and other applications.

The TWR-LS1021A-PB board provides a full-fledged platform for evaluation and verification of design features for the LS1021A processor. It has on-board debug tools, including the Freescale® Codewarrior® IDE. It also has multiple peripheral boards, including a BSC9131/4, an XMC4500, a LM2596, and a 24V DC-DC power supply. Additionally, it includes 4 expansion connectors, giving connection points for more peripheral boards.

The TWR-LS1021A-PB board includes 4 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 SATA3 ports, 6 USB 3.0 ports, a Dedicated Crypto Engines for security applications. It also has an Athos processor and a Real-Time Clock (RTC) for embedded applications and time-sensitive functions. It supports multiple forms of memory, including DDR3, eMMC, NOR, NAND, and SRAM.

The TWR-LS1021A-PB has an extended operating temperature range, with support up to +85℃, making it suitable for various environments and applications. The board comes pre-loaded with the NXP documentation and LS1021A SDK, providing engineers with all of the necessary tools to develop embedded systems quickly and easily.
