The TWR-PXD20 provides powerful applications over a wide range of use cases, from automotive, IoT, and industrial automation implementations to a home monitoring system. This module is designed to work with the PXD20 series processors, especially the Kinetis KV5x family of MCUs from NXP. The board has an internal Flash memory with extensive storage capabilities and a large number of I/O pins, connectors and interfaces to easily integrate other digital devices. Additionally, the TWR-PXD20 evaluation board includes a target processor for developing, testing and debug in real-time, and also comprises a set of embedded tools to simplify the development and deployment efforts. The TWR-PXD20 is designed to work with embedded systems, and can integrate MCU, DSP, and other types of digital circuitry for a wide range of applications. The board eliminates the need of additional hardware design and provides an easy to use design to develop applications. Moreover, the board is divided in two main sections: high-level and low-level components to facilitate integration with existing systems. On the high level, the board contains the Kinetis KV5x family of MCUs with ARM Cortex-M4 core. It also integrates a digital signal processor (DSP) and has a wide array of integrated peripheral devices to support additional functionality for the application under development. At the low level, it contains an internal Flash memory with excellent read and write performance, and a number of GPIOs, serial communication systems, and a large number of other I/O and interface options to support integration with other digital devices. The board has two main operating modes: stand-alone and evaluation mode. In stand-alone mode, it can be used directly for building the desired applications run on the board. In evaluation mode, it can be used to evaluate, debug and validate the application development process. The tools provided by NXP enable visual debugging of code, breakpoint setting, variable monitoring, and extensive performance analysis.The TWR-PXD20 evaluation board can be used to build an interactive, intelligent, and low cost home monitoring system. It can be used to detect and monitor vibrations, pressure, temperature, humidity, and other environmental changes. Moreover, the board can also be used for wireless communication applications, with the support of the onboard dual-band Wi-Fi communication module, and for motion sensing applications, with the support of various motion detection sensor modules.
