Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors (AEC) are a type of capacitor in which a metal oxide insulating film is formed on the anode side of the aluminum electrolytic paper (ECD). The material of the insulating film is mainly aluminum oxide, some of which also contain MnO2. AECs are widely used in power electronics, audio amplification, and high frequencies, circuits, as well as in radio frequency; because of their good insulation properties and low leakage current, they are often used to reduce transient phenomena in switching converter circuits.
