UC28025DWR Application Field and Working PrincipleUC28025DWR is a DCDC switching controller manufactured by Texas Instruments Incorporated. It is designed to operate over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 90V and drive a synchronous half bridge configuration. This part is part of a series of highly efficient, novel and reliable DCDC switch controllers that Texas Instruments has produced.The UC28025DWR can be used in many applications like DCDC converters, point of load (POL) supplies and non-isolated DCDC regulators. It can be used to generate output voltages as low as 0.8V, making it suitable for powering newer technologies that require such low voltages for optimal performance. It has PWM and linear (constant voltage) operating modes and is capable of providing 10A peak current drive and 6A of continuous current output.The UC28025DWR has an integrated current sense circuit with adjustable output impedance and external voltage divider, programmable over temperature protection and adjustable dead time to reduce the switching losses during operation. It also has an independent ultra-fast PWM controller with adjustable frequency and sync output to enable a greater degree of precision in regulating output voltages.The current sense circuit provides the control logic with feedback loop needed to control an internal switch, regulate output voltage and current as needed by the system. The high peak current drive of the UC28025DWR ensures it can handle transient loads (also known as dynamic loads) that require sudden changes in load current.The UC28025DWR utilizes synchronous rectification to increase efficient and reduce the switching losses that come from the use of non-synchronous rectification.
