UCC27211D is a monolithic pulse-width modulated (PWM) gate driver that provides high side and low side gate drive outputs for power MOSFETs and IGBTs. It features an adjustable deadtime delay, adjustable current limit protection, adjustable frequency, and adjustable soft start. This IC is capable of both sinking and sourcing high current from the gate of the MOSFET/IGBT for improved reliability, efficiency and functionality.UCC27211D belongs to the family of PMIC gate Drivers and it has a wide range of applications. It is highly suitable for hard and soft switched applications, point-of-load converters, motor drives, UPSs and solar inverters. This IC can also be used for medium and high voltage applications such as medium and high voltage DC–DC converters, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and medium and high voltage switch-mode power supplies.The UCC27211D is suitable for high voltage applications up to 400V and it can provide high current up to 5A per output. It features current limit protection, adjustable dead time, adjustable frequency and overvoltage protection, making it highly reliable and efficient. This IC also features soft start capability and active clockwise current limiting to minimize maximum current peaks.The UCC27211D works on the principle of pulse-width modulation. It takes in analog input signals and converts them into pulse-width modulated output signals. The output is then used to control the gate of MOSFETs or IGBTs. The adjustable frequency allows it to achieve fast transitions from one level of operation to the other, reducing switching losses and improving overall efficiency. The adjustable dead time delay provides a better control over the overlapping of signals, thereby helping to reduce noise and improve switching performance.The UCC27211D also features adjustable current and voltage protection limits, allowing it to prevent damages caused by excessive current and voltage levels.
