UCC5680PW28TR is a part of Texas Instrument’s Interface - Signal Terminators family, referred to as Class “A” low-profile, low-frequency optimized, cost effective, single-ended response “adaptive termination” for high-speed data transmission in backplanes and/or tightly-spaced cables. The UCC5680PW28TR is composed of a capacitive matrix with integrated termination which helps manage data crossings and reduce EMI without increasing system cost. The Dynamic Adaptive Termination Network (DATN) includes the UCC5680 component (which has a user-selectable setting) tuned to terminate the line’s electrical characteristics so signals transitioning through it can be more reliable, robust and faster.
UCC5680PW28TR’s primary application is to provide termination and propagation delay matching to reduce power and noise levels in SERDES and other high-speed serial links. It can also be used as a signal splitter (e.g. in multiplexers, repeaters, expanders). Its low input capacitance makes this device suitable for driving 40 to 100 ohm single ended data lines up to 4 Gbps. While its small size, low cost, and low power consumption make this device an ideal choice for high-speed applications in telecom, computers, and data communication systems.
This device works with a performance optimized Dynamic Adaptive Termination Network (DATN) design to provide an improved electrical fit for VCC, ground, and signal lines in a variety of control and data paths. The UCC5680PW28TR offers no-disable, reverse gain, or clamping; its internal termination can be set to non-inverting for low VOC or inverting for low-VOH. Additionally, UCC5680PW28TR can also detect a logic 1 or logic 0 through manual setting, and provides a differential output.
