Among various types of capacitors, UCY2E331MHD can be identified as an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, specifically it is of military grade specifications. The dielectric of the capacitor is formed from an oxide layer generated by anodic oxidation, which grows directly onto the aluminum surface. In the presence of a voltage, the oxide layer prevents current from flowing between the electrodes. When current is passed through an electrolyte, it forms an electrical double layer between the electrodes. Electric charge will be stored in those electric double layers during the conduction of the current.
While installation, UCY2E331MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitors must be inserted correctly to ensure proper functionality. The capacitors must be oriented according to their polarity marking (positive and negative terminals): the negative lead of the capacitor should be connected to the more negative side of the circuit.
