UF1005-M3/73 diode, also known as ultra fast diode, is a single diode typically used in high frequency rectification application, such as low and middle frequency direct current power supply, wide bandwidth switching mode power supply, high frequency quick rectifier, as well as other application, where high speed and low capacitance are required. It has been widely used in various industries, including communications, network, factory automation, instrumentation, automotive, military, etc. The UF1005-M3/73 diode is a standard recovery diode housed in a mini SOD-80 (5x5mm) surface mount package, and has a maximum forward current (IF) normally at 1.0A and a maximum reverse voltage from 70V to 100V. When sufficient forward bias is applied, the diode will then pass current with the voltage drop across the diode being very low at around 0.3 Volts.In addition, the UF1005-M3/73 diode is also characterized by a very low recovery time. In a rectifier circuit, the recovery time is the time interval between the zero-voltage transition point and the transition point at which the current begins to rise in the diode. It refers to the time it takes for the diode to transition from off-state to on-state or from an off or reverse bias state to an on or forward bias state. It also has a relatively low capacitance which makes it ideal for producing uninterrupted power supplies. It can withstand voltage transients in excess of the maximum nominal rating and has a very long life span, exceeding several thousand hours. Moreover, the diode is designed to block reverse voltage and not be damaged when subjected to higher reverse flowing current.
