Introduction

Working Principle

The UF4004-E3/53 rectifier diode consists of three terminals, namely the anode (positive), cathode (negative) and gate (control). The anode and cathode of the diode form a PN junction. The PN junction allows the current to flow in only one direction, i.e. from the anode to the cathode. The gate terminal is connected to the base of the diode and is used to control the diode\'s operation. When a voltage is applied across the anode and cathode terminals, the diode conducts current in the forward direction. The voltage at the anode needs to be higher than the voltage at the cathode for the current to flow in forward direction.
