The UFT14060 is a rectifier array with 6 x 200 V PIV, 0.2 A UniJunction Transistor (UJT) chips contained in a common package that offer the capability to quickly and efficiently rectify a variety of applicationssuch as pulsed logic, AC power systems and so on. This device functions as a closed loop, in which the two-terminal UJT is triggered by a bias voltage that increases with the temperature, so it can be used for controlling and/or regulating output.
The UFT14060 is basically composed of six UJTs, each having two terminals and a common gate terminal. The UJTs remain in an off state until a base voltage exceeding the breakdown voltage is applied to the gate terminal. When this occurs, the gate terminal current will be rapidly switched creating a high-temperature, low-voltage "valley" behind the gate and so forward voltages may be applied to the semiconductor. When sufficiently high, the forward voltage appears at the gate, switching the UJT into an on-state.
When theforward voltage is removed, current is cut off and the UJT will revert to its off-state. The UJTs in the UFT14060 can be used in a variety of ways and can be arranged differently. The UJTs can be used to create a variety of circuits such as full-wave, half-wave, bridge-rectifier, and so on. They may also be configured in parallel for higher current applications.
