The UFT14140A is a power rectifier diode array designed for applications in portable, standby and telecom power supplies. It is part of a single-package array that utilizes the latest in high voltage low E-cap switching technology. It provides rapid, low distortion (and thus enhanced efficiency) to support surge currents up to 35A peak-to-peak. Due to its superior switching performance and affordability, the UFT14140A is becoming a popular choice in applications needing fast, efficient rectification.As a rectifier, the UFT14140A operates by taking an alternating current (AC) input and converting it into direct current (DC). The device uses diodes to achieve this as it relies on one of the diodes’ unique properties: that they allow current to flow in only one direction. Each of the UFT141478’s array of six power rectifier diodes, working in tandem and placed in series, will stop current from outside the circuit from entering, in turn allowing only current from inside the circuit to pass through. As current passes through the diodes, their direction is reversed and the current is converted from AC to DC.The UFT141408 also utilises personal high voltage, low E-cap switching technology. This technology allows for a superior switching speed and, subsequently, a high efficiency level.
