Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used electrical components which store energy in the form of an electrical field. Unlike small capacitors, such as ceramic and film capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors have far greater capacity for energy storage. This is due to the fact that they\'re made with layers of metal foil with an oxide layer of electrolyte between them. When electricity flows through the device, it creates an electrostatic field between the two metal plates.
The UHE1E182MHT is a radial leaded aluminum electrolytic capacitor with up to 18,000 μF of capacitance. It\'s designed for applications requiring high ripple currents and very low ESR, such as switch mode power supplies, inverters, audio amplifiers, and motor control circuits. It offers low equivalent series resistance and is designed to handle high temperatures, ranging from -55°C to 105°C.
The UHE1E182MHT is manufactured with a grooved, anodized aluminum case. This case offers more efficient heat dissipation, improved ripple current capability, and a higher capacitance rating. The case is sealed with epoxy resin to protect the internal components from dust, moisture, vibration, and humidity. The working principle of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is relatively simple.
