The UPP1004E3/TR13 is a designed dual-channel NPN with high frequency, low noise amplifying output transistors that are typically used for radio frequency (RF) applications. This device is capable of a wide range of linear and non-linear operations at frequencies up to 500 MHz.A dual-channel device can be created from two inside transistors which are both positive and negative. Each transistor has an input, an output, and a common connection. The input is driven by the common connection to set the current levels of both transistors. When the input voltage coming into the input is above the threshold level for the two transistors, conduction occurs and current flows through both sets of transistors to the output. Conversely, when the input voltage falls below the threshold level, both transistors are cut off, and no current flows. With both transistors conducting, the device acts as a sort of amplified switch and can be used to drive high-current loads.The low noise amplifying output transistors of the UPP1004E3/TR13 provide fast response and low noise in applications such as low-noise signal gain and filtering, phased array and beamforming, signal transmission, signal amplification, power amplifiers and power management.The UPP1004E3/TR13 is suited to applications where signal integrity and control need to be maintained in the presence of significant noise.
