Description

The USB2422/MJ is a single-chip USB 2.0-compliant Low Pin Count (LPC) controller, which is integrated with an LPC 2.0-compliant interface to the host. It offers a variety of advanced capabilities and can provide a higher performance alternative to an embedded USB 2.0 host solution. Additionally, the USB2422/MJ also provides an enhanced power-management feature set, making it ideal for use in battery-powered applications. The USB2422/MJ supports multiple transfer modes, including Control, Interrupt, Bulk and Isochronous.

Working Principle

The USB2422/MJ is designed to plug into a Mini-USB B receptacle and operate as a low pin count USB 2.0 host processor. It operates from a single 5V supply and requires no external capacitors or crystal oscillators. The device supports four endpoints for data transfer, an LPC host interface for communication with the host, and integrated power-management features. The USB2422/MJ supports Control, Bulk, Interrupt, and Isochronous transfer modes.

The USB2422/MJ feature set includes a low-power suspend mode for reducing system power consumption during idle periods. After communication to the USB host is established, the USB2422/MJ can support up to four USB transfer modes, including Control Transfers, Bulk data streaming, Interrupt Transfers and Isochronous Transfers.

The USB2422/MJ is designed to be integrated into a host processor or system board, making it ideal for applications where space or power requirements are an issue. The device can be combined with Maxim’s De-population Kit to reduce board cost and debugging time.
