USB2514-HZH Interface and Controllers
USB2514-HZH is a high performance, low power 4-port high-speed USB 2.0 Transceiver Hub Controller (TCHC) device. This device provides four downstream ports with high performance USB functionality and supports data rates of up to 480 Mbps per port. With an enhanced set of features, it supports low power bus speed, suspension and detection for low power application enabling and power/performance optimization. Its uniquely wide power supply range adds power and cost advantages ideal for systems requiring multiple port USB application.

USB2514-HZH is specifically designed for a wide range of USB enabled device applications. Examples include peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers, external modems, scanners, digital cameras, personal media players, and VoIP phones; embedded systems and game consoles; host controllers; digital TV and Set-top boxes; and embedded systems such as industrial controllers and medical instruments.
Working Principle
At its core, the USB2514-HZH utilizes a 32-bit 8042 microcontroller to assist the port control, OTG (On-the-GO) charger detection, LCS (Lowspeed Control Signal), and low power Bus Suspend and Detection features. When connected to a computer, the hub will broadcast a unique signature identifying itself as an USB2514-HZH. This device will then respond to the host on all four ports. It will also execute commands from the host on all four ports as efficiently as possible.
