USB2514I-AEZG Integrated Circuits (ICs)

USB2514I-AEZG is an advanced, standard USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Hub Controller engineered by ON Semiconductor. It provides users with a full-featured, low-cost, low-power solution for expanding their USB connectivity. This device is a multiport hub that supports up to 14 ports for connecting peripheral devices, such as digital cameras, printers, game controllers, etc.

This USB 2.0 hub controller has a number of applications, primarily as a controller for USB devices providing plug-and-play connectivity and hot-plugging. USB2514I-AEZG can be used in media players, gaming systems, laptops, motherboards, IP cameras, audio sources, and other consumer-based electronics related to the USB 2.0 standard. It is also applicable in Ethernet-to-USB bridging applications, Low-Speed and Full-Speed USB host controllers, real-time communication terminals and other bridged communication applications.

The USB2514I-AEZG supports up to 14 downstream ports and one upstream port, and provides both Full-Speed (12Mbits/s) and Low-Speed (1.5Mbits/s) bandwidths. It is designed to communicate with the USB host via a 4-bit-wide multiplexed data/address bus and write strobes for DATA, ADDRESS and FUNCTION registers. The USB2514I-AEZG also includes fourteen pull-up resistors in the hub ports, which provide a external current source and the ability to connect and detect the connected devices.

The USB2514I-AEZG Controller has an integrated integrated 3.3V regulator and an onboard 3.3V voltage regulator, so it can be directly connected to a 5V supply for powering itself and the connected devices. The data/address bus is 4-bit wide multiplexed buses, which provide superior flexibility and faster transfer speed. The USB2514I-AEZG provides Hub Status and Device Status Registers, and five Link GPIO pins to control hub functions and features.

The USB2514I-AEZG utilizes 1.5K bytes of SRAM for buffering the data, and provides an integrated interrupt controller, which provides six 32-bit configurable interrupt sources, a soft reset and a power-on reset. The device can be used for Hot-Swap operation, wake up from power saving mode, and supports low- and full-speed devices. It also provides support for automatic transceiver configuring, resume detection and suspend detection.

The USB2514I-AEZG provides several features, giving users the most efficient way to expand their USB 2.0 connectivity, as well as manage multiple USB devices with no need for extra hosting software or controllers. It supports simultaneous slave and master operations, and allows up to 4 devices to be connected to the hub with 14 ports. Additionally, the device complies with the On-The-Go standard, and supports remote wake-up.
