Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

UVK1A471MED1TD aluminum electrolytic capacitors are suitable for filtering, frequency division, decoupling, and bypassing applications. They come in a variety of packages, in axial, through-hole, and surface-mount configurations, with a wide range of voltage and capacitance ratings.

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized components made up of two electrodes, an anode, and a cathode. The anode consists of a strip of aluminum foil etched to form a network of interconnecting passages and covered with a layer of an electrolyte-soaked paper or film. The cathode is a solid metal rod, and the two electrodes are inserted into a can. The entire assembly is then immersed in a potting material to form a complete capacitor.
