Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in electronic equipment and are important components of electronic circuits. They provide stability, temperature compensation and filtering. The UVZ2G010MPD, designed and manufactured by United Chemi-Con, is a radial lead-type, snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitor which has a wide range of application fields and different working principles. It consists of two electrodes; a thin oxide film-covered anode and a cathode.The UVZ2G010MPD capacitor is designed for voltage-stabilizing purpose and ripple-current filtering in switching mode power supplies, portable devices, audio and automotive electronics. It can also be used in a wide range of other applications including medical instruments, power supplies, portable chargers and LED lighting. Its ultra low ESR of 9mΩ is able to provide excellent ripple-current filtering characteristics and noise suppression to ensure reliable performance in high frequency applications. It is rated at 100V, 10mF and features a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.The working principle of the UVZ2G010MPD is governed by Faraday\'s Law, which states that the amount of energy stored in a capacitor is proportional to the voltage applied across it. That is, when a direct current is applied to two metal plates separated by an insulating material (dielectric), an electric potential is built up across the two plates. The UVZ2G010MPD capacitor is filled with an electrolyte, usually an aqueous solution, allowing it to store more charge than film capacitors and ceramic capacitors. The capacitor is designed with two aluminium foils which are electrically separated by a thin, porous layer of semi-permeable material known as the separator. The thin oxide film covering the anode acts as a sealant and prevents any leakage. When an electric voltage is applied across the terminals, the electrolyte is attracted to the electrodes and a current flows through the capacitor, resulting in the build-up of electric charge.
