The V130LA20BP is a highly efficient, low-voltage, bidirectional surge protection device designed to protect against overvoltage and overcurrent events up to 30A. It features two independent 1500W unidirectional protection channels and a thermally protected gas tube designed to withstand 1000W peak pulse power per line. This product is suitable for protecting against lightning, transients, inductive loads, power switching, overcurrent and/or overvoltage conditions in a variety of applications.Varistors, MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) are often referred to as overvoltage protection devices (OVPDs) and are commonly used to provide protection against transient overvoltages in either AC or DC circuits. They are simple, low-cost components that can be designed and manufactured in different shapes and sizes depending on the specific application requirements. A varistor is usually composed of metal oxide granules and other materials that provide a non-linear resistance vary much more with voltage than with temperature.The V130LA20BP contains two separate bidirectional 1500W channels, each in a V-shaped configuration, that are designed to withstand two different voltage sensitivities in each direction. Its n-type characteristics bypasses the current until the voltage reaches a certain threshold, then the device turns on and provides a low-impedance path to ground or a low-impedance path to an overcurrent protection device. This allows it to provide robust transient protection while minimizing power losses in the circuit.When connected in series with the load, the positive terminal of the V130LA20BP is connected to the load circuit and the negative terminal is connected to the ground.
