The V175LS10CP is a TVS Varistor, a voltage-dependent, nonlinear, surface-mounted device which provides reliable protection from voltage transients and is designed for a variety of applications. It can be used for capacitor snubbing, motor control, automotive, and telecommunications equipment. The V175LS10CP is a very popular and versatile varistor product.The V175LS10CP varistor is a distinctively designed disc shaped device with a diameter of 17.5mm and a thickness of 10.5mm, made from a zinc-oxide based active material. It has an internal, low-value (10ohms max), non-inductive, surface-mount resistor for transient suppression and is designed to offer excellent surge capability in a wide range of applications. The V175LS10CP can be used for overvoltage protection in power systems. Its multi-stage protection is designed to absorb voltage spikes caused by loads, lightning and other transient overvoltages. The product is also able to provide solutions for an ESD protection, RFI/EMI filter, and an MOV application. The device also comes with an internal wire lead for proper connection to the PCB. The working principle of the V175LS10CP is that it forms a low-ohmic resistance when exposed to an overvoltage condition. It will remain stable until the applied voltage reaches the clamping voltage of the device, at which point the varistor will rapidly increase its resistance and reduce the applied voltage, thus protecting the system from damage. The resistance of the varistor is reduced when an overvoltage is applied, allowing a large current to flow through the device.The V175LS10CP’s response time is excellent and it is tested in accordance with IEC 60529, complying to an 85V/AC 2KV impulse surge test. It offers exceptional electrical characteristics in terms of peak current and peak power rating, low inductance, and excellent insulation resistance. It also meets the safety and reliability criteria required for most modern circuits, providing protection for a wide range of applications.Overall, the V175LS10CP is an ideal fast-reacting varistor product which offers robust and reliable protection against voltage transients.
