The V22ZT05PX2855 contains an advancement over traditional diode-based devices, encompassing two layers of protection. The first layer utilizes Zener-diode to provide fast clamping action, rendering the second layer, which is MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor), unnecessary for most applications. But, when higher surge currents are encountered, the second layer will activate and dissipate the extra surge energy.
V22ZT05PX2855 features multiple ground paths to provide an enhanced ability to dissipate surge energy.
