TVS (transient voltage suppressor) surge arresters are designed to protect electronic systems from very high static and transient voltage surges, such as lightning strikes or line switching transients. They consist of a metal oxide resistor, nonlinear semiconductor, varistor, MOV (metal oxide varistor) and other components. The V68ZA2P is a varistor manufactured by Vishay Intertechnology specially designed for high energy applications, such as lightning protection and surge protection.

The V68ZA2P is a SURFACE MOUNT 28 V Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) specifically designed to protect Electronic Control Units (ECUs) from external lightning, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. It is highly suitable for use in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. It is a surface mount component that has a symmetrical design, meaning it offers equal protection to both positive and negative input.
