V68ZS3P Circuit Protection

The V68ZS3P is a zener diode bidirectional overvoltage protection (TVS) module that is designed to provide ESD and surge protection for various applications. Working Principle of V68ZS3P

The V68ZS3P consists of two sets of semiconductor structures which work together to provide bidirectional ESD and surge protection. The first semiconductor structure consists of a pair of integrated Zener Diodes in a common cathode configuration. This pair of Zener Diode provides transient voltage protection from 5.9 to 42 volts in both directions. The second semiconductor structure consists of two MOVs in parallel with each other. This combination acts both as a dynamic regulator and as a surge protection device. When a fast overload voltage is applied, the two MOVs act as dynamic regulators, limiting the voltage and current to a safe level. During a prolonged overload, or an overload that is too large for the MOVs to handle, the two integrated Zener Diode will activate. When the Zener current exceeds a certain level, the two integrated Zener Diode will clamp the voltage to a safe level. The combination of the two semiconductor structures ensures that the V68ZS3P provides complete overvoltage protection.
