Working Principle

V8PAM10-M3/I Diodes work by allowing electrical current to flow in only one direction. It acts like a one way valve for electricity. The device contains two terminals, the Anode and the Cathode. When a voltage is applied to the Anode, it creates a small potential difference, also known as forward voltage, which allows current to flow in one direction only. The strength of the current is determined by the size of the forward voltage, as well as the load applied to the circuit. At the same time, when a reverse voltage is applied, and the Cathode becomes more positive than the Anode, it creates a biasing field, which blocks the current from flowing.

Additionally, this diode is designed with a thermal protection circuit, it is able to protect the diode from being damaged by overheating. This thermal protection circuit will disconnect the device from power supply to prevent it from further malfunctioning.
